    Status Quo rock legend!

One of the two favourite rock bands of my youth, the other being Deep Purple. Now both having lost a key member. Showing my age now.

    R.I.P. Rick.

I was fortunate to see Status Quo perform at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre in May 2006. They were the support act for Deep Purple that night. I couldn't believe my luck!

I had seen Deep Purple a couple of times before, but that night Status Quo's non stop performance blew me away. They made Deep Purple look like the support act, and that's coming from a HUGE Deep Purple fan.

No other band did it better than Status Quo in their 'niche'.
Rick was a big part of that success and a mainstay of their longevity.
    So many great tracks.
