    Seriously! You did well with the quick photo but it is just a bit hard to see what it is.
    That is the same model MX-5 that I have but I really don't have any plans to mount my milk thermometer in the air vent.
    The hand looks like it belongs to an old bloke.
    So - he is checking to see if his air-con is working?

    Yeah sorry, only had a potato �� on hand. He looked at least mid 40s. I thought maybe he liked the temperature just so, and outside air temp changed things up too much for him.

    Air con techs use them to test the temperature of the air flow out of vents to see if the unit is working properly. They have a plastic sleeve with an integral pocket clip, which also clips onto the vent. It does looks like a milk thermo though
    I got 'gifted' one when I did some work for an big air con company, I had it mounted in my car air con vent until parking in the summer heat made the indicator dial max out and fall off

    I have this hand that I stick in front of the air vent to see if it is working properly.
