We Will Remember Them
This is a serious and important thread remembering our ANZACS and people who have gone to war for our country.
I have had the privilege of attending several dawn services over the years, and the pleasing thing that strikes me is the large cross section of people and in particular how many young families come out to respect our diggers.
To all our armed forces who have and are fighting for us. Thank you for your sacrifices to give us the freedom we enjoy today.
We will remember them...
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.
I attended the Perth Anzac march today, I marched with my father's 2/4th Machine Gun Battalion who were captured at the fall of Singapore and forced to work on the Thai/Burma Railway. One of the few remaining members John Gilmour, who turns 99 on Friday marched the entire length to the Esplanade and even though tiring near the end refused assistance.
Thoughts go out to all veterans and their families on this special day of remembrance.
LEST WE FORGET
