Does the CBA only give financial advice on the phone or can a person go to a branch?

My friend is looking at a managed investment with the CBA bank, possibly with Colonial First State. He was put in touch with a guy over the phone. But can he see a financial advisor at a branch instead?

I would imagine that it depends what branches are near your friend. as far as I know, they have planners and advisers at some branches.

The more relevant question is why has your friend decided that he wants to make a managed investment through CBA? On what basis has he narrowed the choice down to this? Don't expect any great benefits arising from past loyalty.

I'm not going to give advice to my friend on that. I'll just leave it to the question on whether or not some CBA branches have financial advisors.

Fair enough. Just don't get why your friend wouldn't just ask CBA that question.

Sometimes it depends on the nature of the enquiry and what authorisation the individual staff has. Managed Funds is a regulated product, and advice can only be given by those qualified and authorised to do so. Not every branch may have a qualified financial planner sitting there. Bankers, even Bank managers have different expertise and authorisations.
