    Wasted time!

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Thought for today, perhaps a little less controversial than the last one.

I support that position but I doubt a boss would.

Thankfully roasting coffee is no longer viewed as wasting time

Reminds me of the great Australian tradition of "The Sickie", now called a "Mental Health Day".
Sometimes you wake up and you just can't face anymore of the 5h1t, so you take the day off and do something to repair the psyche.
I always regret I didn't do this. When I eventually retired I had 9 months of Sick pay on full rate that just disappeared.
I rationalise it as being fortunate to have not been sick enough to need to take it. I did however know people with a similar level of service who retired with nil Sick Leave.
Did I get a medal for being so 'brave and honest'? What do you think.

My first job with a semi-government department years ago had an unbelievably generous 28 full and 28 half sick days! I think 5 of each without certificate. Also had flexi-time and incredibly flexible annual leave which could be taken in say 2 hour blocks. All came in really handy when the flags were sitting out straight indicating a good wind and time to hit the beach for some windsurfing. Definitely was good for Mental Health.

In later years became really conscientious and loyal to employers who in the end didn't give a damn. I think I had it right at my first job. If you could wind back the clock......

    What's a sickie?
At CoffeeSnobs you need a death certificate to get a day off, haven't tried for one yet.

Ah, 'Self-employment'. The horrendous hours are the price you pay for not having to work for some DH who hasn't got a clue and drives your sanity slowly out the door while you ponder what else you could do and where else you could work.

I was self employed for fifteen years. Worst employer I ever had. The slave driving bastard nearly drove me into an early grave.
