Stuck here no always something to do - let me see ah yes tomorrow I will go flying hot air balloons and Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat and what the heck Sunday as well. Must remember not to drink the so called coffee from the breaky tent. Nice Cosmorex coffee expertly roasted by Freshcoffee but spooned from an open ss bowl into the PF not tamped and stuck in the machine. YYYYYuck sloppy wet pucks (if you can call them that) and insipid coffee. Might have to help out the Lions club in the morning if we get back and gassed up quickly enough.

Hey which balloon will you be in?..Ill wave to you,I had a laugh. * One early morning a few years ago,. I walked out of my house bleary-eyed to get the newspaper from the driveway,.. and a balloon was right above me, but I didnt see it :o..... It was so close we could talk without yelling,.... I felt like I could stretch up and touch them,.. how I didnt see it I dont know.... but anyway.. they must have seen me first and said... shhhhhh lets freak this woman out and they did!!!.... They turned on the burner right above my head (maybe to get over the two storey townhouse I was in at the time,I had a laugh) and I screamed...and they all laughed and said..."sorrrrrrrrrry",..like sorry but we meant that,I had a laugh. Still larfin their a55es off.. they say good mornin,.. looks like itll be a nice day today etc. Yeah like I only started my day off feelin like the world was about to come to an end. >:( ;D ;D

Awesome,.. will keep an eye out for you,.. I should be up and about pretty early in the morning. * I probably wouldve been able to see the balloon you were in today from my house,.. if it landed at Belco soccer club (the blue job at McKellar??). *

If I send you a google map of the roof of my house,.. can you swing by and drop a few bags of greens off?? ;) just aim for the huge trampoline in the backyard.. Ill paint an X on it for ya,.. I mean Im just thinking of you,.. youll gain a little altitude without burning fuel and all.

You can have balloonin tho,.. you wouldnt get me up in one. *shudder*

Nice pics Neil! Love the Kookaburra. If youre heading out this way again tomorrow,..can you snap a shot towards Cockington Green way and the golf course up the hill a bit..you might just get my roof in there somewhere. Would love to see this area from birds eye view.

See, theres my problem with ballooning - I couldnt see how two of those balloons in photo 2 were going to avoid landing in the middle of Burley-Griffin.....

Great looking shots Neil, if I wasnt such a wuss Id almost be tempted..... :)

It must be wonderful to float through the air like that - its on my agenda of must dos!

On my way home today I saw an ultra-light on a trailer - looked like it had a plastic bucket for a nose and an over-sized computer fan on the back...now that to me is scary! :o

Oh well just for you Viviane this was the balloon we worked and flew in 2006. It didnt stay there it is called a splash and dash - come down touch the water and take off again. Get it right and it is great wrong and you get wet feet, ankles and knees but you will take off again.

Nah all 4 girls looked pretty good. Funnily enough everyone wanted to look inside that one to see the rest of the picture. Lots of photos taken of that particular balloon. It is completely inkjet printed from top to bottom. Not only looked great but a very competitive competition balloon with very high ascent and decent rates, a real pleasure to work with. Ill dig out some from last year later. Tomorrow we will have the shamrock doubtless find some photos for you all to enjoy.

Neil, I bet your passengers were so busy looking up that they didnt notice how close they were to being wet...

Remy, its not you thats missing something - Sloggi is lingerie, and in another masterful stroke of advertising, theyre using a model that isnt wearing the product. :P

Correct Viviane Sloggi is a brand under the triumph banner they have a couple of very eye catching balloons. If you look closely you will find that the model is wearing the product in the colour nude. There was a blue pair, red and black pairs as well. They are G strings after all - note the rego G REAR

Will get some shots of the shamrock and others from today up later.

How about putting the CoffeeSnobs logo on one (or all) of those balloons and entering the 5000th member comp? ;)

    Re: ACT Canberra

It is not a job Dennis I merely volunteer to help out each year. Unfortunately I dont actually pilot them. I need a bloody big banner and it could be arranged to put it into perspective the shamrock is a little over 35m high by 25m wide. Plenty of scope for advertising but I think that some one else got the advertising idea years ago.
