    Re: vacuum container

Not sure what is meant by "vacuum container". Some people say vacuum but mean airtight. I put dripolator coffee on for a couple of my committees and use pre-ground coffee (of one sort or another) which needs to last for several weeks. I have tried air-tight (click-clack) containers, which seem to help but have wondered about a so-called vacuum container that can have most of the air removed with a small hand pump. Hard to source up here in the sticks & tend to be expensive. Probably not much to be gained with pre-ground coffee anyhow, and maybe similar with beans.

I would have it a guess that they mean this product:
    http://www.coffeeparts.com/coffeebags/bags.html#coffeesaver

A study found that they made no difference to ground coffee but that study was by Choice.

I have tried them with beans but wouldnt recommend. They leech the oil out of the bean and as the beans degas the seal breaks any way. If you didnt take the lid off then it would be fine. But that wouldnt suit any need that I had.
