    Question coffee roasters effectiveness

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Does anybody used coffee roasters from this company to roast green coffee beans? There are only 2 roasters in the company website. How long would it take to roast 250 g of green coffee and what is the fastest roaster out of these two?
Thank you very much in advance for advice. Cheers Alex

This company coffee snobs roasters. There are two of them. one for about $500, the next twice more.

Wouldn't be easier to name the roasters?

There are hundreds of posts on the performance of the Behmor 1600+ here (about 2 threads down from where you posted):

and another comparing the Behmor and Gene (posts spread over many years:

You might read any of the multiple threads on coffee roasters in this forum to get an idea on whether a roaster might be suitable...

As for the quickest roaster? It's a flame thrower. Just don't ask me the drink the results...

    1. Yes, many people do. I roasted over 2kg of green beans today alone.
    2. Yes only 2 roasters but that makes choosing easier than if there were 3
    3. I’d say they will take about the same amount of time. There is no faster way due to the science of taking a green bean and turning it into a brown nugget of coffee goodness. Much to learn you have.

If you take the leap into roasting, as others have replied already, read up on the boards for support. There are plenty of great threads with much coffee wisdom.

I've had a Behmor 1600plus for about 2months and love it
It might take about 12 - 15mins to roast 200grams. And when you look at the quality the time is well worth it. I am smitten with having freshly home roasted coffee.

I too have the Behmor, normally roast 275g, some beans can easily load 350g (current Yemeni) - and still hit a FC at 15min.

On the Behmor you can't run batch after batch - need to cool it down between batches. Lot's of posts out there on the best cool down cycle, but I do two lots of the 15 minutes on the machine cooling cycle. So get two batches in an hour (net of moisture loss 500 - 550g).

    Behmor Coffee Roaster
Thank you very much for sharing your experience with Behmor. Probably will wait when it will be available to buy.
