    Garanti versus Has Garanti roasters

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hi snobs

This is my first post so go easy. I have been looking for a while for a second hand 10 kg Has Garanti roaster and during this search i have stumbled onto a 10 kg Garanti roaster of which i am now also considering. I have a couple of questions for the brains trust.
    1. i'm curious about the history i heard there was one company between brothers who had a falling out and went there separate ways, one controlling the original the other starting Garanti roasters. a bit of searching didn't turn up much info. Does anyone know the story or have a link to some info ?
    2. In your own opinions is the Garanti inferior to the Has Garanti or have any significant short comings.

    Thanks Matt

I think (from vague memory) that Garanti was a "breakaway" from Has Garanti but I might be remembering that wrong.

Has Garanti is the better bet as it's had Australian importers and Australian safety certification for many years (15+) and I think Garanti was only ever grey imported and may or may not have ever been certified.

    Agreed.

The skeletons are pretty much the same- but it's what's inside that matters. Coffee Roasters Aust (aka CRA technology) imported Has Garanti until pretty recently. The roasters arrived pretty much as chassis and drum and the gas trains and almost all electricals were designed and installed on the GC by them.

The best of the gas trains IMHO were the dual burner Polidoro ones which were circa 2014 build onwards and Coffee Sweet profiling is a big bonus if fitted. It works really well.

As for Garanti, no idea as to where there were any that weren't grey.

NB also that a roaster without accompanying documentation for the relevant energy authorities will be close on impossible to gain energy safe certification on and therefore not legal to operate without it. #trapsforyoungplayers

Thanks for taking the time to reply guys appreciate the feed back. The fact that there doesn't seem to be a great deal of them around worries me as it's hard to find much info on them and replacement parts is a concern. With a pretty strict budget that I've set I know I won't get something that ticks all the boxes, though this one is type b certified ( it cost him a bit to get compliment) running in a commercial Roastery and set up for cropster.
I have come across a 10 kg Has Garanti reasonably priced though there is no certification no on the tag and the paperwork from cra says it's a type a appliance, I assume that it would cost aroun 4k or more to get type b compliment. Thoughts ?

Thanks caffeinator, I don't know much about the different gas trains, this one had 2 cylinders in there. And I've been scared to pull the trigger for fear of falling into one of those traps you mentioned the more you look the more you find.

    Behmor Coffee Roaster
Garanti Roaster is certified with CE, ISO9001 and ISO22000 when I have checked their website www.garantiroaster.com.

I had a good quote for 12 kg with different versions. High performance burners are adjusted , there was a chance to check them on World of Coffee Berlin.
