    Great read, thanks Mal!

    Really interesting, and good summary that it's about understanding your roasting world, and you can't obsessively compare your profiles and numbers with others. They can be handy, but your temps, RoR etc aren't an absolute thing, but relative to your own data-collecting.

    Your graph provides information that has to be comprehensible to you.

    Yep, good article Mal, certainly helps in understanding that profiles, whilst meaningful to the operator of an individual machine are not easily duplicated by other operators, given the vast range of devices being used the best we can hope for is to be able to understand what is happening in our own particular setup, most of us, after much practice come to understand and anticipate the changes taking place during the process, and, whilst similar, the numbers/profiles are certainly not transferable from one machine to another, profiles are useful as a guide and something to aim for but little more.
