    Coffee in Adelaide CBD?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Wondering if someone can give me some pointers to good coffee in the CBD near Currie street / Light square?

Going to be there for 3 days for work training and would love to know of anywhere good in advance, dont want to have to go without... or cart rocky and my plunger with me...

I suggest you check out Bar9 on Glen Osmond Rd. Not sure how far it is from where youll be situated, but its about a 10 minute walk from South terrace, and very much worth it.

We went there a couple of weeks ago and the coffee was delicious. Aside from espresso-based drinks with different SOs and blends, you can also have syphon brews.

Glen Osmand Rd is quite a few Ks from the CBD, La Trattoria on King William St is worth a visit also should be quite a few in the Hindly St area, dont go there after dark its a notorious trouble hot spot. ;)

Bar9 is definitely too far to walk.

I dont know of any awesome places at the West end of the CBD. Not saying there arent any, I work at the opposite end of the CBD so dont get that way too often.

Hindley St or Waymouth St are your safest bets. Its only a 10min walk to the Central Market from there which would be worth going to during your lunch break (not open Mon/Wed). Zuma is my favourite coffee place there.

Two well respected haunts in Adelaide are Cibo on the corner of Rundle St and Frome St, and Simply Coffee on Rundle St in Kent Town. Both unfortunately are up the east end of town but both would be closer than Bar9. There are many other Cibo franchises around and you may get lucky with some of those but the one I mentioned has always been the benchmark by which other stores are judged. Simply Coffee is a great coffee experience all round - onsite roasting, plenty of fresh SOs and blends plus lots of equipment to ogle at! Peter, Lucy and Sally are a very hospitable crew!

In the end things didnt go really well... worked out I was near the place called short black but couldnt find it for the life of me

So had a Cibo on the first day (milk was done fairly well, but coffee lacked the full flavour im used to), and was shouted a hudsons on the second day (couldnt knock that back), again the milk was alright but the coffee not much flavour

So would certainly not come clambering back for coffee, seems a friendly enough city from Cibo and COS where we went for dinner on the second night (that place is great, will be back if im back in Adelaide again)

Shame to hear phrosty. We certainly have some great places but unfortunately none close to where you were working (that I know of).
Could be a business opportunity for an entrepreneurial CSer.
