I have for sale a Sunbeam EM5800 semi-automatic espresso/coffee machine. It has been having an intermittent issue, so I spoke with Sunbeam Australia and they suggested it sounded like a PCB problem. I spoke with a Sunbeam service centre who advised that it would cost $160 to replace the PCB. However, it should be noted that I have not actually put this in for an assessment, so it is possible that is not actually the problem.
I have owned this from new and it has received regular, light use (2-3 cups per week).
Other than the issue mentioned above, it is in excellent condition, and will come packaged up in the original box with all original accessories (incl user manual), as well as a couple of spare new rubber group head seals.
The plastic tamper was only used for a very short time, as I used a custom made Pullman tamper (not included in the sale), and the rubber frothing attachment has never been used.
This could either be used for spare parts, or you could spend the money to have it repaired and have a great coffee machine.
Some further details on the problem: Without warning, the machine will stop pouring the shot and the middle three lights will flash. To reset this you need to turn the unit off at the power point, then back on. You can then continue pouring the shot. Sometimes it will work without any issues at all, and sometimes after one reset (as described) it will then work fine. However, sometimes, the problem repeats itself and you need to switch it off and back on again.

Having looked at that link, I presume you are pointing out that I did not include a price. Thanks for the link, even though it was a bit cryptic.Originally Posted by 6662445D5D5847505F310 link=1264677222/1#1 date=1264680602
Anyhow, lets set a price of $40. If I can, I will revise the original post for this.
Sorry mate, had to run when i posted it, better me than a mod hey :)
Good luck with the sale ;)
Does anyone have a use for this at all? Price dropped to $20. I want someone to get some use from it, rather than me simply throw it out.
I would but postage is a pain to QLD..Originally Posted by 1539303033331B3F3D33560 link=1264677222/4#4 date=1265924068
Dont toss it just yet
Im interested. Mainly for the replacement group head as the handle on our Sunbeam 4800 one has snapped off.
Im in Adelaide and can pick it up.
I dont want the Group Handel... I want some of teh internals..Originally Posted by 3621292A252A30440 link=1264677222/6#6 date=1265940972
PS. The Handel and Head are not the same ;)
Sorry. Group handle not head.
I could dismantle it and send you the parts. Say one piece every christmas?
Can anyone confirm that the group handle is the same from Sunbeam 4800 to 5800?
Thanks for your interest AngerManagement. Postage of the whole thing would have been quite expensive, I reckon, but you can probably work out a deal with remnant for the bits you need.
YES... Well to the best of my knowledge..Originally Posted by 53444C4F404F55210 link=1264677222/8#8 date=1265953561
As per CoffeeMike, I am happy to have bits....
PM me at some stage.
I picked up the machine on the weekend. Group handle fits well and the drip tray is a lot less rusty than our existing one.
Im happy to mail some internal parts to people as needed.
