    Hey Smokey,
How well does the machine run and would this be suitable for a coffee noob? I'm based in Northern Beaches and looking around for my first machine.

    Hi Smoodog,

It's a fairly straightforward machine. A good one to start with and will produce cafe quality coffee with a good grinder and quality beans. (If you're after a good grinder, I have one for sale as well ... just haven't advertised it yet.)

It's in good condition. My in-laws have been using it for few years for 2 coffees a day.

Considering physical distancing, I could set up a demo outside on the deck if you like.

Thought an independent view might help, I just repaired the same model and used it at work for about 2-3 weeks, before I on sold it.

Handled about 10 coffees a day and 3-4 staff learned how to use it pretty quickly. If you drink milk based coffee you can expect to wait 1-2 minutes (after you have run your coffee) for the boiler to increase to steam temp once you hit the steam switch, pre-heating cups is worthwhile, then you are ready to froth. Heaps of steam power, on the unit I had one hole of the steam tip was blocked to slow it down a bit. Really well built machine, made in Italy, with the E61 group, most parts readily available if it needs a repair down the line.
